Toberoi Montana

Monty asuu Pohjois-Norjassa Narvikissa. Sillä on erikoisen lyhyt, alusvillaton turkki. Vuosien mittaan Monty on kilpaillut menestyksellä agilityssa, vaikka ensimmäiset vuodet eivät olleetkaan mitenkään helpoimmasta päästä. Ryhmätreenit esimerkiksi eivät koskaan ole olleet temperamenttisen Montyn juttu. Porojen paimennuksessa sen sijaan Montyn kapasiteetti on omimmillaan.

Montylla on valitettavasti todettu 8-vuotiaana sydänvika, krooninen mitraaliläpän rappeuma, joka alkaa oireilemaan iäkkäämmillä koirilla. Diagnoosi tuli Montyn valmistautuessa agilityn EO-kilpailuihin, jonka myötä Monty on siirtynyt kotikoiran virkaan. Lääkitys on onneksi alkanut toimimaan hyvin.

Myöhemmin, sydämen laajentuman johdosta Monty päästettiin ikiuneen ennenkuin sydän pettäisi. Vaiva on perinnöllinen: Montyn isällä Texulla on todettu sydämen läppävika niin ikään 9-vuotiaana.

Monty lives in Narvik, Northern Norway. This athletic male has very slick fur with no underwool. Monty has competed and excelled in agility throughout the years, though the early years were rather difficult training this intense and temperamental male. Group trainings for ex. never have been Monty´s cup of tea. Instead, herding reindeers has showed the capacity this dog has.

Unfortunately, Monty has been diagnosed heart failure in the age of 8: Mitral valve disease, common for older dogs. The same year Monty had been preparing for EO agility. Monty has always been super energetic dog, so the diagnosis has been shock. Luckily, medicines have started to work well.

Afterwards, Monty was put to sleep for heart expand before it fails. The disease inherits: Monty´s sire Tex has been diagnosed valve misfunction in the age of 9.
