Tex

Tex is a calm worker and concentrates well. He has nice wide flanks and can work very long days without getting tired. He has also done lots of agility throughout whole life and has always been a pleasure to train with. Never competed in agility though. Tex has passed the national herding dog test. He has two Toberoi litters (7+7) with Sui, and one pup with Io: Toberoi Rai-Rai. Video Tex & Rai-Rai herding together:

Generally, Tex has passed good herding skills to many of his offspring. This video shows well how self-confident and well-balancing a 3 months old pup (Sui x Tex) can be:

All his life Tex has been living very actively. Healthy youth just can never promise a healthy old age, or just healthy offspring. In the age of 9 years Tex has been diagnosed a cardiac insufficiency. This has been a majore distress because also two of Tex´ s offspring (Toberoi Montana & Toberoi Apache) have been diagnosed the same. Montana has been put to sleep because of it. Some of Tex´ s pups have had problems with back for spondylosis in middle age: Toberoi Indiana (Sui x Tex 2011), T. Apachella, Arianella and Spitefire (siblings Sui x Tex 2013). Also, one of Tex grandson Toberoi Ghost has been diagnosed spondylosis in the age of 2.

The last few years Tex has lived with Tomi on a texel sheep farm. They get along so well so I´ m so happy for both of them and thankful of Tomi that he contacted me for a need of a sheepdog. I always kept Tex as ”one person dog”, but immediately had Tomi bought his heart and they have their own things now and evening pays which Tex loves. Even though it´ s a risk bringing new genes from uninspeced ranch dogs, we are still hopeful for the future that we could find those genes in health and working abilities in his offspring which should be passed forward again.
