Suey has arrived in Finland in summer 2008. Since the first day here she has proven to be a brave and fearless pup. Herding with her has been started at rather young age, and very fast it was clear she is a natural talent in it. She can herd any animals from poultry to cattle and always reads animals well. Cattle is her favourite though. With them, she will hit both ends with no hesitation. I would say Suey is really waiting for situations when an animal would mentally challenge her. She absolutely loves that! Never has she been kicked by a cow mainly because of her good awareness in situations and animal reading skills.
Working sheep and rams has been nice and easy with Suey. Ducks and chickens have been in very gentle hands when taking Suey on the arena. Suey has passed the national herding dog test (SPKY paimennuksen perusrata) and competed in herding both nationally (SPKY, SKL and ASCA) and internationally. She has earned the right to enter class3 which we never had time to join, unfortunately.

Sui has been the third border collie for me. Never could I have imagined more easy and nice pal to work with on the field. Such a versatile natural worker is hard to come by in the future. Rare thing is that Suey also cooperates with pleasure and likes to take commands. This is not too common among american working border collies. Daily life has also been so nice with this always such a cheerful girl. Generally, Sui has been investigated as a healthy breeding dog although her body is rather short compared to an average in the breed. While we moved to Northern Ireland Sui has stayed at Minna´s farm in Finland. Even now while already 12 years old Sui is happy to join some light daily tasks with chicken and sheep.
Suey has played an important role as one of the Toberoi foundation bitches. Some of her pups have got her excellent natural working skills. Suey´s son Zepp:

Suey and her versatile skills have been highly respected addition into the Toberoi breeding as not all the american working border collies are so flexible and good with sheep. They often are pretty rough and bite hard and easily. Still, cattle bred border collies are desperately needed in the USA in fierce situations which could easily lead to a dog being kicked and bruised by half wild cattle. Too sensitive dog cannot earn the respect of animals. Sometimes, a fearless dog might also save people from being ran over by running cattle. Sitting on a horseback is not just a way of life but also a matter of safety.
